Yummly Reviews
We have 2 reviews for Yummly. The average overall ratings is 3.5 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: My rating is actually 1 or no stars. This site would not let m change the rating whisk is set to 3. The app keeps complaining that internet is not available when searching for recipes. A simple search cannot be completed. I deleted the app.

Overall Opinion: Yummly is a great app for exploring new recipes. Though I found other review complaining about download time and the app lagging, I didn’t have any problems. The app is fast and smooth with a beautiful, but easy-to-use interface. However, you do have to create an account with Yummly to use their app. I made mine through facebook so it went relatively quick. Yummly is divided into three main sections: just for you, explore, and store. Just for you is a section where Yummly takes all your settings and search preferences and shows you all the recipes it knows you will like. Explore allows you to look through different categories, such as kid-friendly, quick and easy, and diets, to find recipes. The store offers kitchen utensils that you may need for what you are cooking. One thing I love about this app is the customizable nature of it. Because of my dietary restrictions, finding great recipes can be difficult for me. With Yummly, I could choose which foods to leave out and I can pick out what foods I don’t like. It was extremely easy to set up. You can also organize your recipes into collections. Another thing I enjoy about this app is the ability to add a recipe to my grocery list. I am constantly looking up different recipes when grocery shopping to make sure I have everything. But, with this app, you can add all your recipes to the list and go shopping from that. One problem with the app is the fact the recipes aren’t in the app. You have to click a button to take you to a third-party website and scroll through it to find the directions. Some of the links don’t always work and sometimes the websites don’t work well with mobile devices. Plus the change breaks the great design of the app. The other big problem with Yummly is that you can’t share your own recipes. It would be cool if this app was more like Pinterest where you could add your own recipes or even send recipes to other users. That way, your great-grandma’s perfect chocolate chip cookies can be enjoyed by more than just you! Or at least you can easily add her recipe to your grocery list.
Pros: Choose what foods to leave out of recipes Easy to log in to and start using Create shopping lists based on what recipes you want to make Find kitchen materials you may need for your recipes Extremely customizable search
Cons: Recipe directions link out to websites instead of being inside the app Problems with some of the links inside the app No ability to add or share your own recipes Have to create a profile with Yummly to use the app
