Buying Guide

There are a range of quality 4K cameras on the market that range in price and features. "4K resolution" refers to a horizontal resolution of approximately 4,000 pixels and is rapidly becoming the standard and is widely respected by the film and video production industry. If you want quality resolution for your professional or home videos you definitely want to consider purchasing a 4K camera.
Here are a few to consider:
AKASO EK7000 4K WIFI Sports Action Camera
The AKASO EK7000 4K is a sports action camera similar to a "Go Pro" camera. The AKASO EK7000 is durable, comes with a water proof case, and designed for extreme environments. This camera produces professional 4K 25fps & 2.7K 30fps video with 12MP photos at up to 30 frames per second is only $85! This is a great camera for water sports and action sports enthusiast.

The Sony FDRAX33 produces beautiful 4k/24p/30p video and has some other pretty cool features as well. The manual audio controls is definitely a plus for those who are looking for a 4K camera that offers more control over the sound capabilities. Sony is a quality brand which produces quality cameras. I would consider this a quality camera at an affordable price of roughly $700. This is a good introduction camera for someone who would like to start working with 4K video but isn't ready to spend thousands of dollars on a camera just yet.

Panasonic HC-VX981K Ultra HD Camcorder
First off, Panasonic produces some really great 4K cameras, I have one and I absolutely love it. This camera has some really cool features. The HC-VX981K provides Ultra-sharp 4K Ultra HD recording, as well as 4K photos captured from 4K video frames. It comes with an amazing LEICA Decoma Lens with optical 20x zoom. This is a great feature that will give you the ability to capture clear and focused shots from a distance without losing image quality which is definitely a plus in my book. With this camera you can also do in-camera editing for 1080p displays. This feature allows you to do quick video editing on the fly which is pretty awesome! You can also connect this this camera to your mobile device
via Wifi giving you the capability to utilize you phone as an external monitor/remote controller. The Panasonic HC-VX981K is priced at roughly $880, which I'd say is a pretty good price for all the great features. This is another great introductory camera.
Panasonic HC-WXF991K 4K Ultra HD Camcorder
The Panasonic HC-WXF991K is similar to the Panasonic HC-VX981K but comes with a few more bells and whistles. Te only difference between this camera and the previous one is that this camera comes with 5-axis Hybrid Optical Image Stabilization, an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), and 4K Cinema in-camera editing and effects (Dolly Zoom, Slow/Quick motion, 4K Post Cropping, Stabilization and Zoom). For about $120 more this camera will provide you with a few more cool capabilities. Hey, if you have an extra $100 why not get the fully tricked-out version?!

It has plenty of manual controls for more precise control of of features like white balance, and shutter speed, as well as audio output/input ports. You can get a Panasonic AG-UX90 for around $2050 which is a pretty good deal for pro-camera. It's not as nice as the Panasonic HC-X1000 but it's definitely a quality camera.
Panasonic AG-DVX200
This is definitely a high end camera, it is equipped with all of the bells and whistles as the Panasonic HC-X1000 and more. It comes equipped with integrated zoom lens, stunning images with shallow focus and attractive Bokeh effect of its 4/3-type large-format sensor, Full-HD, 120-fps variable frame rate shooting and dual codec recording, Leica Dicomar 4K 13x zoom lens, high-speed, high-precision auto functions and pro-level manual functions which provide operating ease and mobility, wireless remote control and preview from iPad and mobile device, and built-in stereo mic. It also has input and output audio ports for external microphones and audio monitoring. The Panasonic AG-DVX200 is a whooping $3800, but for professional film-makers and those looking for pro-features the quality and capabilities this camera offers are worth ever penny!!!
These are just a few of the 4K camcorders on the market. I tried to highlight some introductory affordable cameras as well as some professional more expensive units. When looking for what you truly want I would suggest you identify some of the most important features you want in a 4K camcorder. For me, image stabilization, optical zoom, low light filming, and input/output audio ports are high on my list. Another thing to consider is price range. You want to purchase a camera that provides all of the features that are most important to you that also falls within your budget. These are just a few things to consider before purchasing your awesome 4K camcorder.
