Buying Guide

In this piece, we are going to try to help those of you interested in buying a monocular. Some of you may be first time buyers, might be looking to upgrade, or are looking to add an additional piece to your collection. We are going to touch on a wide array of products and make comparisons so you can make the best decision in your purchasing efforts.
Monoculars were originally invented for people that were only sighted in one eye, or for those of us that have better vision in one eye. These days monoculars are common place foe outdoors men everywhere. They can be found in the hands of hunters, bird watchers, golfers, and anyone that needs to scan outdoor terrains. This is going to deliver a fairly comprehensive review of different products and where they fit into anyone's budget and still get the best performance possible for your dollar.

First we are going to touch on the products with the best over-all performance. Every review I've researched has presented the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD as the single best monocular on the market. The Bushnell Legend Ultra HD has a beautiful crisp view, a picatinny rail for adding accessories, and is tripod compatible. The design is user friendly for righties or lefties as well. Pushing this baby to it's limit, the user can reach a sight range of about 1000 yards. This monocular caries high praise across the market and sits with a price tag at around $189.99. This is a higher priced piece, but shopping around may pay off. The Amazon link for the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD can be found above.

For those of us on a tighter budget, but still desire top of the line quality, the Polaris Optics ProSpotter 10X42 is a very highly rated product. This survivalist tool presents a very crisp and clear view, is virtually indestructible, and is easy to handle for novices and experts alike. This monocular has been reviewed by experts and is reported to have a clear sight up to 1000 yards. Regular price on this item was hanging around at $189.99, but can be found for as low as $60.00 on Amazon. There is a link above for this piece as well.

One company that offers an ample line of monocular products is Vortex. An affordable model is the Vortex Optics Solo 10x25 Waterproof Monocular. This little job has a rubberized housing and like many other popular models, the Vortex Optics Solo has cushioned adjustable eye pieces for those wearing glasses. Carrying a very nice price tag at around $55.00, this fine tool has crystal clear sights at just about the same distance as the best products. At the other end of the spectrum, we have the Vortex VMX-3T. This piece of monocular equipment may be the grand jewel of the lot. The Vortex VMX-3T is a sleek lightweight import that has nitrogen purged water-proofing technology and is as tough as they come. Although the Vortex VMX-3T is generally designed for rifles, any outdoors lover can find a use for this top of the line optic. The Vortex VMX-3T Magnifier with Flip Mount comes in at a hefty $199.99 price tag. For those of you who like to splurge, this is your choice. Links for both of these Vortex optics can be found above.

Of course there are many other optics out there for every person at an affordable price. If you are interested in a Polaris model, but don't have the money to spend on the top shelf piece, then the Polaris Optics EagleEye 10X42 may be for you. The Polaris Optics EagleEye 10X42 is a compact model that is pretty much indestructible as well. It has all of the most competitive features and sight specifications as the more expensive models. The Polaris Optics EagleEye 10X42 has a price tag around $56.00. Another nice monocular that has high ratings is the Celestron Nature 10x25. This model has simple, but effective features such as being very durable and having very clean sights up to 1000 feet. It isn't built for being attached to any tripods or rifles, but is perfect for a person who only needs a nice piece for hand-held purposes. The Celestron Nature 10x25 sits at a very affordable $29.99. I have the links to these monoculars above too.

For those of you that want the best all around optic on a budget, then all research points to the HDE 15x - 55x Zoom 21mm Compact. This isn't as near high tech as the the previous models discussed here, but it is awesome for beginners or kids. It has a pretty clear sight and has an attachment for a tripod. This little affordable optic comes in at a $14.99 price tag.

After loads of research and doing some comparisons, the models presented here are sure to be of the best models on the market. No matter if your a novice outdoors person or an expert in the field, this article should help you make an expert decision when deciding to make a purchase of a new monocular optic.
