Venmo Reviews
We have 2 reviews for Venmo. The average overall ratings is 2.5 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Frauded after being a customer for several years, and then dispute was denied. My Venmo card was used after I visited a gas station. I placed a claim after dealing with the headache of customer service (including them adding in a charge into the claim after I mentioned was mine several times). Apparently my claims were denied over a month after submission. This was mainly due to the card being close to the address on file, and Venmo thinking the card was in my possession. I originally thought the card was in my possession as I have a card that looks just like it. I realized that the card was not in my possession. Additionally, because the fraud happened close to my home - they listed that as one of the reasons my dispute was denied. That makes absolutely no sense. I need these reviewed again as I WILL NOT be paying for someone else's transactions. You've also literally done no investigation as to why there are charges at places I do not and have never visited (the largest amount comin
Pros: None
Cons: The company has fraudulent practices
Overall Opinion: Venmo is a clean and simple app and is very easy to use. This app makes going out with friends a whole lot easier since you won't have to split up the bill. Instead, you can send a quick payment to you your friend or family member to cover the costs. This app is also great for roommates, coworkers, or any other person you may need to send money to at some point. Since Venmo is so easy to use, most people have an account making it a very convenient way to transfer funds.
Pros: Mostly Free to Use Creating a Venmo account is simple and free to use under most forms of payment. Convenient Venmo has many features that promote a hassle-free experience, making it one of the most popular money sharing apps. Since the app is so popular, most of your payments will be easy to send as they will be going to existing users. More Secure than Carrying Cash Carrying large amounts of cash has always been a bit of a risky move. With the help of Venmo, you won't have to carry cash around to pay back your loved ones.
Cons: Credit Card Fee Users who make payments using a credit card will be charged a 3 percent fee. However, users who pay with their bank account, debit card or Venmo balance will not be charged any fees. Limited to U. S Users Only Venmo is currently only available in the United States, which is a pretty big let down for the rest of the world. Transfer Limit Any users who are needing to transfer more than the 2,999 dollar transfer limit will have to send the balance in separate transactions. This could definitely be an issue for credit card users as they will be charged 3 percent for each transfer they make. Limited Security Since the app is relatively new, there are some security issues for users to keep in mind. For example, your Venmo account will be linked to your email address. Therefore, if someone happens to hack into your email, they can easily snag your Venmo account as well.
