Overall Opinion: While 7GIF doesn't allow you to edit GIFs, it does provide you with a robust set of tools when you're looking to more closely scrutinize an existing GIF animation. It can show GIFs of any size or length, and users can make use of the existing tools to snap a picture at exactly the frame they want. It's a simplistic but useful tool kit with an interface to match. The tools available to you are cleanly laid out in a modestly sized toolbar that allows the visualization to take front and center prominence. While you can use the main toolbar to open new GIFs, it's just as easy to drag and drop them from Windows Explorer or the desktop interface. The options themselves are about what you could expect from a premier GIF player, loaded with functionality for viewing and analyzing videos without overwhelming the user or getting in their way. The interface allows you to fast forward or reverse through your GIF at various speeds and even skip frame by frame for when you're looking for the perfect moment within the video. Once you've settled on what you're in search of, you can easily export all the frames or specified frames with a simple click of your mouse. 7GIF has put an extensive amount of thought into how their customers want to watch GIFs. Whether you're looking to make sure your GIF stays on top of the screen regardless of the apps you're running or operate it in full screen mode, you'll have the option. You can scale the quality to match three different levels according to the level of fidelity you're in need of, and you can zoom in for a closer look on any gif or transform the individual frames from the GIF into a digestible slideshow. 7GIF is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. It can be run as a self-installing startup or a stand-alone archive, and it's compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Windows OS. Updates are handled directly through the app so that you won't have to keep manually updating to keep up to date with the newest features, and this app is available in over 14 languages. What 7GIF does, it does well. While it may be limited in scope, it offers all the functionality you might expect from a GIF viewer. The wide range of viewing options make it a premier option for evaluating GIFs, and the export functions allow you to get the snapshots you need. For those who aren't in need of heavy duty GIF editing software and are instead looking to transform GIFs into memes, it's a strong choice.

Pros: Offered fully featured at no cost Clean and non-intrusive design gets straight to the point and puts the necessary features right at your fingertips A variety of viewing and exporting options

Cons: Isn't designed for high end editing or manipulation of GIFs Not compatible with Linux or Apple operating systems
