FrostWire
FrostWire is one of the oldest BitTorrent clients. The open-source framework was released in 2004. It is a peer-to-peer file sharing platform that sprang from another program called LimeWire. Unlike its predecessor, FrostWire does not use the Gnutella network to permit file sharing.

FrostWire Reviews
We have 1 review for FrostWire. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: FrostWire has become the preferred file sharing application for millions of users around the world. The program allows individuals to engage in peer-to-peer file sharing and download torrents. The program includes a search engine that essentially crawls a large number of torrent websites to locate files a user wishes to download. Using this BitTorrent client is very simple. For starters, the download is very small. It requires just 23 MB of space. The platform receives frequent updates from its development team. It's interface is easy to navigate, and the program even includes a built-in media player. There are no advertisements to deal with either, and using the program is free. New features have been added since the program's initial release. One of the most popular is an integration of sorts with iTunes. The user can import the music downloaded from FrostWire directly into the iTunes library. It is also possible to generate a preview of some files before one decides to initiate a download. There are still the same old security concerns that all BitTorrent clients pose. While the developers are adamant in stating that FrostWire itself will not deliver any viruses to a user's computer, it cannot say the same about the files someone chooses to download. It is always recommended that downloaded files be checked for viruses before they are opened and installed. There are many legitimately free radio stations that can be accessed with the platform, and users can add any file from their own computer to a library. This allows individuals to create their own torrents. FrostWire now includes a huge set of filtering tools that make it much easier to locate a specific torrent, and users can also specify bandwidth limitations. There are some negatives to contend with. Some users have reported that FrostWire attempted to uninstall other programs from their computer during set up. There is also no ability to add custom torrent sites to the ones that FrostWire is programmed to crawl.
Pros: Small download Very easy to use No ads Many settings can be customized
Cons: Cannot manually add torrent sites Attempts to uninstall other programs from a computer
