Copywhiz Reviews
We have 22 reviews for Copywhiz. The average overall ratings is 4.9 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Been using CopyWhiz 6 or so months now, I'm at uni with a lot of files in different place, my pc, laptop, hard drive, usb drives. I'll work on some files and add a few in different locations. CopyWhiz is incredible for me to be able to update any files I've changed, I bought it because I saved over new versions of files losing previous work. Thanks so much <3 Definitely much more powerful and not limited to my use of the program, useful for servers etc
Pros: Very easy to use but lots of help on YouTube of needed. Very powerful for organiser/copy/sync/updater
Cons: I would say I would like to pay less $, but my files are safe from loss, definitely worth it.
Overall Opinion: I purchased this item for one primary purpose, to save files from one drive to another (usually external) without duplicating any of the original files. It will only save the files to the back-up drive that are unique or new since the last back-up. This save a lot of time, which I appreciate. Thanks.
Pros: Good value for the money.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Opinion: I use Copywhiz to distribute files to multiple folders. I don't have any other easy way to do this. Many other advanced use cases are supported, which I'm sure I use in the future. Copywhiz is an easy to use and powerful tool.
Pros: Easy to understand and use. Many useful advanced options.
Cons: I would like to use the keyboard hotkeys in the Altap Salamander file explorer.
Overall Opinion: I started using Copywhiz when it was primarily a way to move files from one location to another. It was a must-have app for me. I was a newcomer to computers at that time and was unable to move files until I discovered Copywhiz
Pros: Although the new version does more than the previous one, I am still using it to move files. And it is still doing it very well. I am using it quite a bit today because I just did a reinstall of Windows 10 and must put a number of important plugins on Photoshop Elements that were not found by Elements when it did its scan. But all is going well, no pain or stress.
Cons: This is not a con, just an observation that it takes a little more study to make use of the this version because it is more complicated than the previous one. At least that has been the case for me.
Overall Opinion: Guys, this App really worth your investment. It save a lot of time when you are backup external drives or anything else which need incremental with high speed and multi thread CPU. Works like RSYNC but with a good and intelligible GUI interface.
Pros: GUI easy to use.
Cons: ...
Overall Opinion: I have been searching for many years to do a backup of my processed image files ONLY. As a photographer I have RAW files and then I have processed jpegs. I want to back these up separately and I want to keep a mirror of my main storage with no compression and no tricky way to recover. Copywhiz did this the first time and now I have scheduled backups of different file types on different media. So simple I wonder why this is not done by other backup software. The price is right and I was happy to pay.
Pros: Simple to use and meets a specific need that I have.
Cons: Nothing. No idea if it is fast or not as it runs in the background.
Overall Opinion: I knew I needed a good incremental backup program, but I dreaded dealing with all the complications I would encounter. Copywhiz is so easy and so far just works like a charm. And it will copy anything, no matter how large or how many sub folders, and it can be used for all copying operations, not just backups. I thoroughly recommend it.
Pros: Very easy and straightforward Many options, such as just backup changed files
Cons: none
Overall Opinion: Excellent automatisation of repeating file-copy-jobs. You can save every job in an own file/template for reusing how often you want. There are some genius features like creating subfolders by file-creating-date, file-type or music metadata like album or composer.
Pros: * genius creating of subfolders by different criterias * coping from multiple sources and destinations at once * preview function * straight user interface * include/exclude filters
Cons: * a little bit unregular ui-design with high DPI Monitor
Overall Opinion: CopyWhiz is just what I needed to copy selected files from a specific folder into another folder. It took a long time to software that would do this but CopyWhiz did it in a second. In the era of big data selectively finding hundreds of thousands of files from a folder containing thousands to millions of files is a real time saver.
Pros: The software is easy to use and intuitive, with many useful features.
Cons: There is nothing that I dislike about the software. It would be nice if it could find files across multiple folders with file names with a wildcard component.
Overall Opinion: I have been using Copywhiz now for approximately 5 years, and I find it a handy tool, I backup my hard drive every morning, well worth the small costs for peace of mind after losing a hard drive at the end of a financial year
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Have not found any yet
Overall Opinion: I was pretty happy with the Windows copying ability, especially the improved copy in the recent versions of Window. I bought an earlier version of CopyWhiz but didn't use it much. But I gave the latest version a try and it's packed with features that are actually useful to me! The big one is the ability to paste only new or modified files and to remove files from the destination that were removed at the source. This will reduce my reliance on the venerable SyncToy from Microsoft.
Pros: Amazingly powerful--more power than you thought you needed. Lots of flexibility in how copied items are pasted. Ability to "synchronize" folders during a copy. Ability to collect source files from several different folders, and the ability to paste the same items to different destination folders. And the author is very responsive to requests for help.
Cons: Can't really think of any cons yet. Maybe the slight annoyance of remembering to pull up the CopyWhiz GUI each time to make sure it's cleared out?
Overall Opinion: The interface is easy to understand and use. I think the best feature is the ability to do large multi-file and folder back-ups and only update the changed or new files/folders. It saves so much time. By saving the "project" I can do a daily back-up to external drive in seconds.
Pros: Price, ease of use
Cons: Nothing so far
Overall Opinion: Worth every penny! It allows me to quickly update just files that have changed! So thankful I found this software, it has saved me hours and hours of work!!!! I highly recommend Copywhiz! For anyone that has to backup files/data, this is a must have! Easy to update only changed files. Runs quickly.
Pros: Accuracy and ease of use! Price is very reasonable.
Cons: Have not found any cons. Very please with the product.
Overall Opinion: This is a really simple piece of software for copying to another drive. I needed software to backup my work - but also make that work readily available on my backup system (a laptop) when I work out of the office. I spent ages looking at 'backup' software, the problem with this is it usually requires 'restoring' the data back to a drive to use it. (the issue may been my language - backup vs copy) I really needed software to replicate my PC data drive so I can continue working on my laptop elsewhere (I work with audio and video files, so cloud based is not an option). Copywhiz nails it. I have easily set it up to quickly review the source drive and then it copies over any new files. Very happy
Pros: Simple to use
Cons: I've read reviews saying it could be a bit faster - but at present it is checking 700GB of files and copies any new files (say 40gb) across in a couple of minutes.
Overall Opinion: I'm very pleased with this software. I honestly didn't want to risk moving server files into a new server command lines, but Copywhiz has saved me the headache and the foundation some costs. I would recommend this software anytime!
Pros: - Easy of use. - Quick response time from the team - NFP discounts for Charities. - 7 days to trial it with full options - that lead me to buy it.
Cons: Nothing that I've came across.
Overall Opinion: Copywhiz is perfect for backing up a folder on a memory stick or SD card. Just copy all the files in your folder with Copywhiz and then "paste special" in the target, choosing "copy only new or modified files." Couple of clicks and you're done. Perfect!
Pros: Easy to use. Many features for those with unique needs.
Cons: None
Overall Opinion: Copywhiz is definitely the best app for copying, moving or storing informational data as files and/or folders. If instructed to do so, it checks if there are previously files in the folders that I backup and/or move to another location. I update files on a regular basis, so it is imperative that I not only store files for security purposes, but update them as they become updated from one locaion to another. With Copywhiz, it is as easy as a click of my mouse- REALLY! We spend good money on backup hardware (SSD and HDD), why "guess" at what is on those drives? Copywhiz does it perfectly and easily. Truly, I will never be without Copywhiz again.
Pros: Pros?: Everything!
Cons: Cons?: Nothing! (Really!)
Overall Opinion: Excellent way to manage files. The copy and paste only new or modified feature is especially useful when backing up files. Excellent user interface. Easy to use. Intuitive. Simple yet powerfull. Can drill down to find more advanced features if and when required.
Pros: Intuitive, easy to use, simple yet powerful, great value
Cons: Nothing
Overall Opinion: I was struggling to take back ups as it was taking enormous amount of time. Incremental backups was what I wanted. I searched the web and came across Copywhiz. I downloaded the trial verrsion and tried it for a day. It was bang on -- exactly what I wanted. I immediately bought it and have been using it since. After buying this, I am at ease knowing that I have a proper back up plan for my laptop. There are number of options available and it is extremely easy to use. It is definitely value for money considering the time we save and ease of use. Thanks.
Pros: Number of options, ease of use, time taken to take incremental back ups (it is really fast).
Cons: Nothing that I can think of in the short time that I have used.
Overall Opinion: I have used this application for several years now. I use it in the office and also at home. It is inexpensive but very powerful. If you need to move files based on a script, this is an easy FAST way to do it. It can be scheduled easily and well... it just works! It deserves a serious consideration for manual or automated moves or copies of files.
Pros: The scheduling is easy. The interface is uncluttered, easy to understand, and informative.
Cons: No option to synchronize files. I do however realize this is a whole different operation as to complexity. Maybe offer that as a 'pro' version. That one might also have the ability to automatically see a change in the folders and do that without being scheduled. All in all, for what Copywhiz sells for and the ease of use... it's a great program. Kudos!
Overall Opinion: simple like this, i try the demo, it work perfect, i contact the support they answer me in the same day i buy it backup files, or folder and update it with a click, recommended for every use and day by day.
Pros: update files
Cons: not see yet
Overall Opinion: This is great. I wanted something that would copy only new and updated files. I tried to set up my own batch job(s) using DOS COPY and XCOPY but after reviewing some software solutions decided to try this out. I was happy during the trial period and purchased it.
Pros: To make it a little easier to set up a Copywhiz "project" file, I re-did several of my source and target folder structures. That had been on my to do list for a while, so this was a trigger. I like the log files, so that I can glance at them if I'd like and confirm that my updated files have been updated. I use a NAS and have it mapped and backing up from my laptop(s) to NAS has been super easy with Copywhiz. I'm a fan. I'm sure there are other software solutions that are just as good but Copywhiz is the one I decided to try and I'm giving five stars all around.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
