WHMCS Reviews
We have 2 reviews for WHMCS. The average overall ratings is 2.5 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: It has some issues, for instance when a customer pays with credit, the invoice date changes and it looks like invoice date is after due date. This is wrong for the financial reports. Refunded invoices still have the name proforma in it.
Pros: Easy to setup
Cons: With version 8 they took you and your user the ability to change user passwords, and gave you a module feature for it for 25 extra usd. This was free in version 7 and its a normal thing you need on your platform, i don't know one site/platform that asks extra money to allow you to change your own password.
Overall Opinion: WHMCS is a premier client-management platform for businesses who provide web hosting services. It gives individuals a complete set of tools that will allow them to automate their web hosting business. The software is particularly useful for individuals who resell web hosting. HostGator is one provider that will give resellers a free WHMCS license when they sign up for a reseller account. Those who do not qualify for a free license may purchase one of three plans which begin at $18.95 per month. WHMCS excels in the automation of web hosting tasks. The hosting provider can configure the program to handle many different tasks, and this helps to save time and streamline customer service. The software also provides sophisticated billing tools that eliminate the need to create and send invoices, collect payments, and add taxes. It integrates with the services of almost all leading web hosting providers. This software also includes a robust support platform that has an extensive knowledge base that will answer most questions posed by clients. It also allows resellers to create a ticket system so that they can respond to support inquiries directly. API's are provided which will assist developers in customizing the platform to their specific needs. More than 35,000 customers around the world have chosen WHMCS as a client-management solution. Users can customize and brand their own control panel so that clients will see the user's brand. There are also a wide number of reports that can be accessed with the program, providing the reseller with a complete picture of their hosting business. HostGator provides a Quick Install of the software via a user's control panel, and setting up the platform is quick and easy. It is even possible to create different hosting packages based on things like bandwidth and storage. The upper tier plan can be a little bit costly if web hosts do not have enough clients to justify the expense. Another downside is that all web hosts who offer reseller plans do not provide a free WHMCS license.
Pros: All-in-one client management for web hosts Automates many tasks Removes the need to create invoices and manage billing
Cons: Not provided for free by some web hosts Install can be difficult for some users Largest paid plan is expensive
