My Opinion on PowerISO

Overall Opinion: PowerISO holds true to its reputation of being a fantastic virtual drive alternative and is above comparable virtual drive software. The main feature that helps PowerISO to be above the crowd is the ability to easily encrypt and render multiple types of media in a virtual setting on any PC or Mac OS.

Pros: Limited Disk Drives: PowerISO is a downloadable software. The fact that there are a limited number of computers nowadays with disk drives makes this software even more desirable for creating ISO images. There are many features that allow the ISO images to be shared and used for storage and program installations. Bootable USB Drives: There is a feature that seems to only be available on PowerISO. The ability to create an ISO image on a bootable USB flash drive will allow you to backup and secure your operating system on PC if it fails or needs serious repair. Full Encryption: The Image Encryption is a feature of this software. The encryption allows an ISO image to be secured in a 128 bit security mechanism. The data has added protection with this functionality.

Cons: Traditional and Outdated: Certain users have experienced a lack of functionality and features with this software even though it can do what it is specifically intended to do. A comparable software is Daemon Tools and the functions associated with this software have a more up to date look and feel. Hidden Malware: A serious concern for many users are all of the additional options that get installed with this software. Many people have noted that these plugins associated with PowerISO are hard to eliminate from the installation process. A similar program, CDBurner XP, is known for its simple installation process and lack of malware. Who wants malware? File Size Limitations: The free version of the software limits the user to a maximum file size of 300MB. A similar program, Daemon Tools, allows you to create image files with no limits.
