recALL Reviews
We have 1 review for recALL. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: It’s fairly frightening how well recALL does it’s job. I’m currently running it on Windows 7 and not only has it delivered my product key for this computer but it has also managed to scrape each and every one my passwords from Firefox and Chrome. This not only includes my Google accounts password but also my PayPal password. recALL also allows targeted sweeps so that you don’t have to search through your entire hard drive each time you want to recover a single password. Since the search is directed through individual files on a hard drive and a deep scan of the Windows registry, it can successfully be used on computers that have faulty or dysfunctional operating systems. For individuals who have somehow forgotten the vast majority of their passwords, recALL will do a great job of (quite literally) recalling them. It then allows the user to export the data in a wide variety of files, including CSV and HTML format.
Pros: ALL is free to use and has a free license as well. While there is an option to donate, there is no upgraded version that unlocks more features for doing so. With recALL, what you see is what you get, and you don’t have to pay a dime for it. ALL produces results that are downright scary. If you thought your information was secure, you were wrong. For being free, it’s remarkably user friendly. In order to get the most out of recALL’s ability to emulate internet protocols like FTP or POP3, you’ll have to follow the instructions carefully.
Cons: Like most free programs, recALL has little to no documentation, leaving unskilled users with a bit of a learning curve. The majority of interesting uses for recALL are probably illegal. Only works on Windows.
