Robo 3T Reviews
We have 1 review for Robo 3T. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: MongoDB is a widely popular tool for storing data in a non-relational (i.e. "no-SQL") format. One of the drawbacks of MongoDB is the lack of a native GUI-based management tool. This is where Robo 3T (formerly Robomongo) comes in: Robo 3T offers a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for monitoring and managing one or more MongoDB installations. Robo 3T can be used to manage local or remote MongoDB installations, and a common usage is to use Robo 3T to manage multiple servers at the same time.
Pros: The Robo 3T software has a very powerful and intuitive graphical interface that puts MongoDB database administration within reach for a wider audience. Robo 3T is a free and open-source tool with an active user community. There are many videos available on popular video sites on how to use the software. The Robo 3T software is available for Windows, Mac and Linux, and is fully supported on all three Operating Systems.
Cons: Robomongo was purchased in 2017 by 3T Software Labs, the maker of a competitive product. Despite the fact that the new owner has pledged ongoing development and support for the Robo 3T software, there was and is concern that the company may eventually discontinue support for the the product. Many MongoDB administrators believe that if you need a GUI for managing your MongoDB installation, maybe MongoDB wasn't the right choice for you.
