Overall Opinion: Hello everyone, I've been using Schoology for 3 years now. Getting content out to students in an organized fashion with word, pdf , google suite and video clips couldn't be easier. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, my students were all enrolled in my classes, and so when the school closure was ordered, I was still able to keep in touch with students and colleagues by way of this amazing Learning Management System. Emailing , posting comments is easy for communicating content. It also has a built in grade book so that students can access their marks as soon as they write a quiz or test. The tests can easily be set for a multitude of settings as well. It archives every class you develop every year so that you can simply copy lessons and materials in and out of old classes into a new one.. All you really do is enroll your students. Because it's web based, I can do day school , night school or summer school classes any where I go. It's been a blessing to me, so thank you Schoology!
Pros: The features are very useful. Some , however, are only applicable if an institution buys you access to Schoology. It allows you grading features, communication with students and has a way to share courses with other colleagues around the world. It holds a calendar to post upcoming events and can also allow you to give badges to students as incentive for good work.
Cons: Not all features are available under the free version. If I was able to buy a the software program , I would buy it for sure. The other item is that you cannot printout the tests , but only archive them in a resource folder. I use to use wkispaces for years before Schoology , and was getting used to that system, unfortunately they could no longer keep it running and it eventually close down. Fortunately, I has saved lesson folders separately so I didn't loose my work.
