ShareMouse Reviews
We have 5 reviews for ShareMouse. The average overall ratings is 3.2 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Easily the best and easiest to use mouse and keyboard sharing software. Really! Run the software on each of your computers and you are good.
Pros: -
Cons: -
Overall Opinion: The software quit regularly 3-4 times a day on my Macbook. Trying to troubleshoot with their customer support was terrible. It's overpriced for what you get and the support is only for 1 year! You can't download old versions of the software once you lose their year of support and you are essentially gimped unless you pay again. To top it all off, the software stopped working once I was outside of the support window. No way to reinstall the version I bought or get help. Really blown away by all the positive reviews. I've experienced nothing but problems. When I bought ShareMouse originally I was hoping to replace my KVM with this software but it's been more useful to just keep using that.
Pros: * Monitor manager is nice
Cons: * Quits unexpectedly daily (buggy!) * Very bad customer support * Expensive + yearly sub model * Confusing to set up with their licensing model
Overall Opinion: The software is good, but its ridiculously expensive $130 dollars not worth it they started at $30 a few years ago, went to $50 in 2019 and 2020 all of a sudden $130, no reason for increase, same product, just they want to charge 3 times more. It fails from time to time, requires restart for it to word. Very handy, but not worth it for the price!
Pros: Easy of use Has a executable version not requiring installation
Cons: Price Customer Service
Overall Opinion: Customer support is abysmal. I bought this product yesterday, and for some reason the way that my PC talks to my Mac has deteriorated in quality since then. I bought it up with their "customer support" and this was the outcome: Question: One thing I am experiencing that maybe you can help me with is a delay with input from the keyboard. It takes the Mac a few seconds to register that caps lock has been turned on and it will also on occasion register that I’m holding down a key when I’m not. This is significantly slowing down my workflow, as I’m regularly having to double back on myself in order to edit mistakes made due to the input delays. Answer: Tom, with your purchase, you expressly confirmed with a checkmark that everything is running smooth. What have you changed that now everything seems to be upside down, please? They mean to absolve themselves of any and all responsibility from the moment you buy. You ask for advice on how to configure their product and you're met with sarcasm and zero help. They would probably save more time just helping you out rather than responding defensively to every email one sends, or even better they could probably save time and money by just not responding at all. Their responses thus far show that they could not care less about their customers, so why even bother responding at all?
Pros: Plug and play, easy as heck to use.
Cons: There are 14 year old employees at MacDonalds that offer a more refined customer service experience than these guys.
Overall Opinion: ShareMouse isn't the only mouse and keyboard sharing platform on the market, but it very well may be the best. That's due in large part because of its expansive feature set and the ease with which it can be set up. For the seemingly simple task that software like this performs, it can be incredibly complicated to get off the ground, but it makes sense. After all, ShareMouse allows you to remotely control any computer from another computer, and that means dealing with network issues in the process. ShareMouse doesn't even require a configuration to get going. That means there's no need to mess with machine names or IP configurations. Instead, just download the software and trust it to work as expected. It also liberates you from the master/slave system that defines many of these platforms. You aren't given limited permissions, and you aren't locked in to only using one computer. You can easily swap out the core machine on the fly. Just because the network configuration process is so simple doesn't mean that the software isn't secure. ShareMouse makes use of both password protection and network encryption to ensure that no one else can hijack your computers. Everything is handled through a simple LAN, and getting a grasp on how everything functions is incredibly easy. All you have to do is guide your mouse to the computer you're looking to control, and it will automatically transmit mouse signals to the new machine. A selection of different hotkeys and graphical cues make it easy to keep track of wherever your mouse is at any given point in time, and ShareMouse works seamlessly with both Mac and Windows machines. The level of control you have with ShareMouse is respectable. You can set the scroll speed on any machine and also set automatic screen dimming procedures. The ability to remote boot a computer makes it a great choice when you're looking to diagnose a hardware problem, while multimedia keys can turn a computer onto your network into a navigable multimedia center without having to access it directly. You can fundamentally turn your computer into a remote control for your entire house with a smart setup using ShareMouse. ShareMouse is about more than simply sharing screens. It allows for some clever interactions between different computers. File sharing is a simple process that uses a drag and drop interface. This makes data transfer a breeze, and it's a great alternative to the traditionally frustrating process of migrating files from a PC to a Mac or vice versa. For smaller bits of data you're looking to share, ShareMouse also allows you to share your clipboard data across multiple machines. Personal users can download and use ShareMouse completely free of use, but a license is required if you intend to use it professionally.
Pros: Requires no configuration to get started A completely free piece of software for all non-professional users Fully loaded feature list and cross-platform compatibility
Cons: Free version limits number of monitors that can be used Premium services can be expensive for the utility offered
