Submerge Reviews
We have 1 review for Submerge. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Submerge is one of the strongest apps in its category, and it works with just about any subtitle format you can imagine. It works with MicroDVD, SubRip, and many others, and it has the ability to sync these subtitles with your videos automatically. This requires almost no effort on the part of the user, and the results are always as close to perfect as possible. After you've added the subtitles to your movie, you can play the movie directly through the Submerge software to check that everything worked as it should. The playback features are fairly basic, and while they could have added a few advanced playback features to make the app even more comprehensive, the addition of a playback feature at all is quite impressive for a subtitle merger like this. The player works in fullscreen mode as well, which is great for previewing content. If you want to export your new subtitled movie to another format so it can be viewed on various devices, Submerge can handle that as well. It will convert movie files to any of several of the most popular formats on the market, including those for iPhone, Applet TV, or iPad. If the device is connected properly, the Submerge software will perform the task for you with the press of a few buttons. If you have a video file but no subtitle file to add to it, you can use Submerge to search for and download such files from the internet. For most common videos, you won't have any problem finding the proper subtitle file. For those with a collection of foreign films with no included subtitle files, this can be an amazing feature that transforms how you use the software. One drawback of the software is that it won't add subtitles to any content that comes from the iTunes Store, whether rented or purchased. This is due to DRM protections to that content, however many foreign films in the iTunes Store come with the option to have subtitles included. Video files can be exported to multiple formats that will work on just about any device, including game consoles, tablets, smartphones, and other similar devices. The list of file formats to which the software can add subtitles is even longer. All of these supported formats, for both import and export, are built-in and require no effort on the part of the user to configure or otherwise set up. You can even use the software to combine several movies into a single file for easier viewing. This is great for building small video collections.
