Titanium Backup Reviews
We have 1 review for Titanium Backup. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Titanium Backup seems simple at first, but it has more features than most other comparable backup apps. The most important features include unlimited storage, multiple tools to freeze and unthaw apps, frequent updates and the ability to sync data with Dropbox, Google and other cloud providers. There's also a "Market Doctor" feature that allows you to either link or unlink apps to the Google Play Store with the touch of a button. Unlike other backup apps that only save normally accessible data, Titanium Backup goes much further and saves files deep in the data tree. While this creates a more reliable backup file, the problem is that your device must be rooted for this app to work. Titanium Backup promises that your data will be restored in full without any errors or issues. The basic app is free, but many of the best features are behind a pay wall. This includes encrypting backups, batch backups and verifications and HyperShell usage that speeds up both backing up and restoring. In this regard, Titanium Backup is somewhat more expensive than other backup apps, but you also gain more features. You can also export your information into ZIP and CSV files that you can carry on an SD card or a desktop hard drive. This includes app settings, text messages, call logs and much more. While some users might see this as useless, others will see it as absolutely essential. Many consider this a polarizing app. It has many amazing features and can do more than most other backup software, but the best features are behind a pay wall. Not only that, but your device must be rooted for this to work properly. That being said, there are few apps that compare to it in terms of features, reliability and speed.
Pros: Includes a massive number of features, such as encryption, HyperShell usage and backing up external and internal app data. There is an unlimited storage capacity, ensuring that devices of any size can be properly backed up. App is consistently updated to make it better, faster and more secure.
Cons: Cons Your device must be rooted for Titanium Backup to work properly. Rooting is a process that might be too daunting for some users, so be sure to research it before downloading this app. Many of the best features must be paid for, and the fee is slightly higher than similar backup apps.
