Overall Opinion: Being able to access PDF files on a phone or tablet can be a headache. GoodReader has long been the standard for Apple users who use a mobile device to manage PDF files. It is now in its fourth version. The most recent update added a new interface as well as some new features. With this app it is possible for a user to retrieve files that have been saved to the Safari browser on an iOS device. One only needs to import the files from Safari by using the "Open In" command. The new version of GoodReader also includes its own browser. This means that webpages and PDF files found on the web can be saved and opened. The app integrates with cloud file storage platforms like Dropbox and Google Drive. It flawlessly syncs with these services to download or upload PDF files. GoodReader will also open up PDF email attachments. There are multiple tools for annotating a PDF file. Notes can be added. The document can be highlighted. It is even possible to draw various shapes like ovals and arrows. Adding a sticky note to a doc is very easy. Something users will love is the ability to save and share just the annotations they have made. This means that a user can send notes to someone without having to send the entire document. Editing an existing PDF is possible with the app. The pages of a document can be reorganized, text can be changed, and charts or graphs can be added. Perhaps the best new feature of the app is the ability to create a PDF file from a blank template. Those who have an older version of the app will find that this one can function as an upgrade or as a standalone version. It is a universal replacement of older versions for those who crave more functionality from their PDF file management app.
Pros: More features over older versions of the app Syncs with cloud storage services like Dropbox Has its own basic browser for saving webpages and PDF files
Cons: First-time users will need practice using the
