Adobe Reader Reviews
We have 1 review for Adobe Reader. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: There are very few if any pieces of software that are more ubiquitous than Adobe Acrobat Reader. It is literally everywhere. For decades now it has the been the standard for viewing and printing PDF files. It basically gives users the ability to use documents that were created by anyone in the world. Acrobat Reader also has lots of other powerful features, such as the ability to render text into speech. It further has options to change the size of fonts and to let users zoom in and out of a document with ease. What's more, you can copy the contents of a file to text. In addition to being a standalone executable, Acrobat Reader is also available as a plugin to many popular web browsers. What Acrobat Reader does not do is create PDF files. For that you either have to purchase the professional version of Adobe Acrobat or use one of the many third-party tools that are available to create the files. Another negative about Reader is that it has becomes a bit bloated in recent years, and somewhat slow. Also, there are often security vulnerabilities discovered relating to the software, which means that you need to constantly keep the software up-to-date.
Pros: Completely free to use Available on just about every computing platform, including mobile Available as a plugin to many web browsers
Cons: Has no options for creating PDF files Has a bloated interfece Requires constant updating because of newly discovered security vulnerabilities
