1Password Reviews
We have 1 review for 1Password. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: The average individual has to keep track of multiple passwords. 1Password makes it easy to keep track of passwords for different sites, and it encourages the use of different passwords on each site so that the user's information is much harder to crack. To begin, users are prompted to enter their name. The app will then generate a 34-character private key. The next step is to create a master password. These two steps work together to provide the strong encryption that allows 1Password to provide exceptional security. Both items are needed to open the app and access password lists. Unlike some other apps, this one allows individuals to save their private key and master password to a PDF file which can be printed and stored in a safe location. The developers of the app recommend keeping the printed file in a home safe or safe deposit box. Of course, the downside of not having handy access to the private key is that it requires memorization. When the app is running it will automatically save login information the first time you visit a website. Login data is saved in the app's vault. The app will also analyze the passwords that are contained in the vault in an effort to discover poor combinations that are susceptible to discovery. This app has a password generator which contains more features than the ones offered by other apps. There is a slider which allows users to customize and randomly generate a password from four to fifty-four characters in length. The random generator will automatically include a variety of upper case and lower case letters. A user can also choose to include one of ten symbols in their generated password. There are some drawbacks to this program. It will not automatically update passwords like some other programs will. It is also pricey. A subscription for one individual costs $35.88 per year. There is a family plan available which can be used by five people in the same household. This plan costs $59.88 per year. Users can receive a free 30-day trial on both plans.
Pros: Two-factor authentication improves security Password generator offers much in the way of customization Free 30-day trial
Cons: Plans for the software are expensive No automation for password changes Browser extensions can be troublesome to configure
