LastPass Reviews

by grex about LastPass on March 29, 2018:
Internet security has never been as important as it is today, but the sheer volume of accounts people use in their daily lives makes keeping track of your log-in information exceedingly difficult. Using a single complex password across your accounts can make your entire identity vulnerable in an instance where your code is cracked, while using a variety of simple passwords makes it easier for any individual account to be hacked. LastPass provides you with the convenience of remember a single password without the inherent security risks involved.

While there are many password managers available on the market, LastPass is one of the best around, and it offers a robust selection of features completely free of charge. What's particularly useful about this app is how non-intrusive it is. Installing LastPass on your device as a browser extension. This means you won't have to worry about navigating an independent client or worrying about a full-sized application eating up your device's processing power. Once you open up the extension for the first time, you're asked to create a master password. This should be complicated but memorable, as it will serve as the gateway to all of your accounts and be required when registering LastPass on new devices. The application process is simple, requiring you to just enter your email and create your password, and LastPass then guides you through the process of updating your passwords on some of the most popularly used services around.

Since LastPass uses one single password as the gatekeeper to all of your accounts, that means you can create individual account passwords of as much complexity as you'd like. While you're allowed to enter these manually, LastPass also offers automatic password generation. These are long, complex, and randomly created to bolster your defenses and risks of being compromised. LastPass also excels in how it can speed up your shopping process at online retailers. LastPass can save your billing and shipping information and automatically generate it for you in the checkout process. Since all this data is hidden behind your LastPass password, you can be comfortable knowing it's safely stored away. You can also store digital records and notes in your LastPass account, so compromising data like insurance information is carefully secured but also easily accessible.

LastPass is available on as many devices as you want, and it requires two pass authentication to ensure that users' information is safe from prying eyes or would be hackers. And since all the information is stored locally, you don't have to worry about hackers breaking into your LastPass account. The browser interface used by LastPass is intuitively designed and easily navigable. All of your account information and private documents are neatly laid out for you, and you can change information simply. You can even test the security of your passwords to make sure you're working with a level of protection you're comfortable with.
