You can search their massive database that records whether shows are available on services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Crackle, YouTube and several other popular streaming services. If the movie or TV show you want to watch is not available for streaming, CaniStream.it will also show you if it's for rent on one of those services. Some additional rental-only services the app supports include iTunes, Google Play, Vudu, Sony Entertainment Network, and Vimeo On Demand. CaniStream.it can also tell you if a movie or TV show is available to rent from places like Netflix and Redbox, so even if you can't stream your entertainment instantly, you'll be able to find it readily. If you still have a cable subscription like Xfinity, the service can also tell you if the movie or TV show you want to see is playing on any of your premium channels. HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and Encore are all supported. With the ability to check so many different sources for the availability of digital media, CaniStream.it is the best place to look if you're not sure the movie or TV show you want is available on your digital services. It also beats trying to find the show individually across the services, since you can search multiple services at once and identify where to go to watch your entertainment. The only downside is that smaller streaming services that cater to niche audiences, like Crunchyroll, aren't yet supported by the service. The app interface is also a little out-dated, with the Android app resembling old Jelly Bean and KitKat-era design language instead of modern Material Design. The app still works fine, but it's definitely a throwback to a few years ago in Android design language. The iOS app has that problem as well, as the top nav bar resembles how iOS used to look five years ago instead of today.
