Overall Opinion: Developers who want a comprehensive and mature software solution for deploying cloud applications often turn to one of the biggest names on the market, Kubernetes, and for good reason. This incredible platform is over 15 years in the making and is filled with features that have been added over the years, combining the best items from many other developers' software. For example, the software features automatic binpacking, which places containers in order of their resource requirements, saving availability and server workload. This keeps resources free for other tasks and providing a more optimized experience that other platforms fail trying to achieve. Kubernetes also comes equipped with horizontal scaling, granting an application more resources with a command, automatically based on CPU load, or even with a handy GUI. One of the more impressive features of Kubernetes is its self-healing functionality, which will automatically restart containers that have failed. It can also move, replace and reschedule containers when a node goes bad, allowing regular server maintenance to stay on schedule and saving downtime. A user-defined health check can be implemented to ensure that unhealthy containers aren't even advertised to clients until they are given a good bill of health.

Pros: Completely open source software means anyone is free to modify it. The latest build is always available on the Kubernetes GitHub repository Online interactive tutorials are available for users trying to get started

Cons: Kubernetes is designed to work with any sort of application development process, meaning more streamlined platforms are probably available for more specialized needs
