Overall Opinion: A reliable tuner is a must for any serious guitarist. The age of mobile devices has made PitchPerfect a perfect companion for the working musician. This app is great for the studio or for using in live performances. It can be downloaded for Android and iOS phones, and the app is very accurate when it comes to matching pitch. It eliminates the need to dig a handheld tuner out of the guitar case or place a clip-on tuner on the guitar's headstock. PitchPerfect has automatic note detection. This means users can tune in standard A440 as well as 50 alternate tunings. The only downside of this feature is that the guitar needs to be close to proper tuning before beginning. Users can tune their guitar with any sound input. This includes microphones and other line in devices. The app saves time because the player doesn't have to scramble looking for the note they want. It is even possible to check the intonation of the whole fretboard with this handy tool. Best of all, it's as close as the player's mobile phone or tablet. The software integrates with a number of other apps that are produced by NCH Software. It can be used with Switch Audio File Converter, WavePad Audio Editing, MixPad Multitrack Audio Mixer, and other digital audio workstations.
