Overall Opinion: The standard keyboard on an Android or Apple device can be a little bit boring. TouchPal Keyboard is a replacement for the keyboard that comes packaged with the Android OS. There is also a version for the iPhone. It offers many enhancements that bring fun back to sending texts and making posts on social media. This keyboard excels at something called Smart Input. It is able to provide contextual prediction, auto-correction, and Cloud prediction. These features can be turned on or disabled at will. While there is no disputing that these features can come in handy, they can be a little annoying at times. TouchPal Curve is similar to Swype. It lets users trace the keyboard to compose texts instead of tapping each letter. There are more than 1,000 emojis and stickers available for individuals to use in their text messages and posts. The keyboard will even offer emoji predictions. BoomText is a proprietary new feature of this keyboard. It has the ability to turn random texts into animated gifs. Users can even create their own custom gifs. Typing in certain keywords will also call up smileys and stickers. Themes are available and can be downloaded for free. These themes let users customize the appearance of the keyboard. This will appeal to those who want a keyboard that matches their own unique personality. The downside of this keyboard is that it can sometimes behave badly on its own. It misses the intuitive mark on occasion. This can be frustrating to the user who has to retype a word five times because the auto-correct or predictive text has gone haywire.
