Overall Opinion: It goes without saying that file backup is an integral part of using a computer, whether for personal or business purposes. Disasters can happen at any time, whether a natural disaster, an accident or hardware failure. No matter the cause, keeping files secure is paramount to ensuring that hours of work are not lost forever. Acronis True Image is a feature-loaded solution for users who are serious about their file security. The software works for both entire system backups or just individual files, giving the user the power of choice. True Image uses cloning and mirror imaging techniques to make a duplicate of the entire system for later recovery. Backups can be made on the local disk and also on the cloud, for two layers of file security that will always ensure that files remain safe. Conveniently, in the event that files need to be restored, True Image allows incredibly fast file recovery. The software includes a comprehensive dashboard that shows the types of files that are backed up in a line chart, giving an at-a-glance look at file type distribution in the backup itself. The dashboard shows the time and date of the last backup and the overall size of the backup. According to the Acronis website, "two clicks" are all it takes to do a full system backup, allowing a level of ease that even the most novice users can understand. The icing on the cake is the software's anti-ransomware system that automatically detects and reverses unauthorized decryption to ensure that files are always safe from intruders.
Pros: Extremely simple to use Available for Microsoft Windows desktop PCs (XP or later), Mac OS X (10.10 or later) devices and Android (4.1 and above) and Apple iOS (8.0 or greater) mobile devices
Cons: The scope and power of the software doesn't really justify a $50 price tag. Advanced computer users will be able to do exactly what this program does for much cheaper or even free No support for Linux
