My Opinion on Adobe AIR

Ease of Use

Value For Money

Overall Opinion: With a full suite of features available to appeal to all types of developers, this is one of the most versatile and reliable Adobe products to date. The program is designed to handle every aspect of the web-design process, ranging from the hard-coding and graphic design to the simple type arrangement necessary for text and banners. The program can be one of the most comprehensive suites to use, especially for those who are just getting started with the web development field. Because of the versatility of the final products, individuals can apply the runtime to work with all types of platforms. This makes it particularly powerful in mobile app development, as more and more professionals begin to focus their resources towards this industry. Like with many other similar softwares, users are recommended to familiarize themselves with the suit before long-term use.

Pros: Once users get the hang of the program itself, it is extremely comprehensive to use, especially when it comes to building games from the ground up for interested clients. The layout is reliable and quick to dive into, and users were pleased that the central design did not change much as it updated over the years. The cross-platform capabilities are extremely useful and versatile, and users were pleased to see that they only had to make minor adjustments to make function between platforms work. Those who use the program for the long-term will be pleased to see that the community is very friendly and helpful, with numerous threads regularly made about the program's functions.

Cons: Like many similar programs, this one may be difficult to get used to, as there are many functions available for individuals to understand as they explore the program. Users have described that applying the runtime to mobile left something to be desired, and that there may be better systems available. Greater focus on the Flash aspect of using the program may be desired for individuals who are more heavily based in Flash development.
