Audiograbber

Desktop Software Tools
Description
Audiograbber software is a famous freeware platform for audio extraction or conversion for Microsoft Windows. The software was first developed by Jackie Franck in the mid-1990s. The software utilizes ...the LAME encoder, WMA codec, Ogg Vorbis encoder, and several other formats that are compatible with its command-line encoding library. It allows users to copy music from external sources such as CDs, radios, turntables, and cassettes. The music copied is then saved to a computer hard disk in the form of MP3, WAV, or WMA. The software is a unique and efficient platform for copying music from CDs since it comes with the capacity to normalize the audio. The software gives users the capacity to rip and record all incoming audios through the mic jack or audio played on the computer but it does not have capacity to record audio directly from the internet. Overall Opinion: I've been using this program for about 30 years now. This program was amazing until the website closed that auto filled the artist, album, song title, and track number. SO.... Now you have to manually add all that information in unless you don't are about the artist, album, song title, and track number. There is no way to change what website it pulls this disk data from. That's why I don't use it anymore and am looking for an alterative free program.

Pros: Everything it does is a PRO!

Cons: There is no way to change what website it pulls disk data from. That's why I don't use it anymore and am looking for an alterative free program.

Overall Opinion: I have not found anything on the market as easy and as fast to use as Audiograbber. Been using the product for a long time. In 2020 when freedb shutdown I thought I would need to give up this software, as I would have to input all the necessary audio cd info (this would be painful). But I found that by changing the freedb server to use Gnudb.org. It now gets the artist and track list from this site. Works perfectly, I will not change until there are definitely no other alternatives

Pros: Ease to use.

Cons: For my needs, I have not come across any as yet.
