Overall Opinion: Bedrock is an excellent program for creating WordPress content and websites. Using WordPress alone as a creation tool has a few drawbacks. Bedrock seeks to cover those drawbacks and to add even more tools to make website and content creation easier. Updating plugins can be risky with a WordPress site. Configuring things in WordPress can be difficult at times. WordPress demands that you manually keep track of all plugins. Bedrock provides solutions for all of these issues. Bedrock software provides more automation for the creation process. If you've ever tried to add plugins that were not compatible and had fatal errors show up on your website project, you'll appreciate some of the features of Bedrock. This software can help you to create a self-contained version of your project that will then install a version of itself complete with plugins, once the project is ready. This software offers a multistage environment. Creators can have a version for development and experimentation. You can also have one version for tests and a production version for your current, live website. This means never having your website visitors see errors, unfinished sections or a completely down and offline website. Installation of Bedrock is pretty easy and straightforward. You will also need to install Composer to get the most from this application. Customizing and keeping track of your websites and various projects is a breeze with this software. It makes adding content, plugins and themes from WordPress, simple and intuitive. One nice thing about Bedrock is that it allows you to easily upgrade your website when WordPress gets an update. You simply edit the composer.json file and then run the composer install program. You won't have to worry about site crashes or living with an old version of WordPress again. The Bedrock software works well for its intended purposes. It has an excellent amount of features and benefits for those working in WordPress. If you only need to build and maintain one website, it may not be worth the time and effort. If you work in WordPress a lot, however, it's definitely something worth investing in.
Pros: Easy to use.Packed with features.Makes building a WordPress site easy. The folder structure is an improvement over the native WordPress structure.
Cons: Requires downloading and installing some other programs, such as Composer, to take full advantage of.The software may not work if your website is hosted on a shared host. It requires shell access to the server.
