Overall Opinion: I was happy enough with Spotify, though their app and software really are SO badly designed. Now however, I find out that they're deleting podcasts they don't politically agree with. So this user, is bidding them a MUCH deserved farewell. Because if they cannot even allow people to make their own choices of what they want to listen to by not making it some utterly absurd cause, then they should not be in business in the U.S. and should consider moving to China. This subscriber won't put up with control freaks limiting her options and in fact no subscriber should have to. So if they're going to take that kind of a stand, then so should the subscribers.
Pros: You find a lot of great music
Cons: They are deleting podcasts from their platform because they have now become so political that frankly it's NOT worth the money or the fantastic music. That they feel it appropriate to control what their subscribers CHOSE to listen to is not only inappropriate, it borders on fascism!! No business in the day and age should be getting involved in people's choices...certainly not if they want to stay in business in the broader sense.
Overall Opinion: Spotify has managed to find a niche in the now-overpopulated music streaming market, though it has lost ground to the well-known powerhouse Pandora. It's still popular among users who claim there are less annoying advertisements from Spotify than from competitors. Using the service requires registration, but does not require payment. If the ads and limited features are a bummer, users can pay a small monthly fee to become a premium subscriber, removing the ads and allowing functionality like repeating songs, downloading music and unlimited use of the skip button. Subscription also improves sound quality and allows offline listening. Spotify is now a favorite among some artists, especially those signed with Universal Music Group or Merlin Network, and occasionally these artists will choose to have a new album be exclusively available on Spotify, at least for a limited time. This certainly drives traffic to the software, given the size of Universal's empire, and encourages fans to stay up to date by downloading it.
Pros: Family subscription plans are available to save costs Prices are comparable to major competitors Works on nearly all modern smart phones, tablets, laptops and desktops
Cons: Advertisements and limited functionality still encourage some people to continue obtaining music illegally Extreme audiophiles will be disappointed with the sound quality of streamed music Received criticism from major artists, such as Taylor Swift and Thom Yorke, that the service does not give proper compensation to musicians
Overall Opinion: Spotify is my favorite app, which I use daily for several hours. Browsing artists and songs you like has never been easier. I also appreciate the app's set-out making it neat. I would recommend to buy a premium or family account, because it is advertisement-free.
Pros: I like the option of downloading songs and podcast and playing them in the offline mode. It is very convenient mainly when I travel and cannot connect to wifi.
Cons: I think the app should be available in its premium set-up free of charge. Having a family account can be a cheaper option if more people chip in, but having a one-person premium account does not have to be affordable for everyone.
Overall Opinion: For streaming music Spotify is near-perfect; if you are looking for audiophile quality audio don't opt for Spotify - go for Tidal; it costs more but it offers sound quality that is industry-leading. Beyond even FLAC at this point. It costs a LOT more...but you can get 3 months for free. That's a LOT of audiophile audio without paying a penny. Same with Spotify.... 3 months free, plus numerous free subscriptions with other purchases, student discounts, free random months to old unsubscribers etc...
Pros: The most diverse library of songs on the Internet. Continually improving the features and quality-of-life, along with a user interface which is easy to grasp. Increasingly more compatible with other services; for example Google Nest. Integrations with websites such as Last.FM to track your listening habits; I've personally got a record for EXACTLY what I listened to dating
Cons: Lack of audiophile-quality streaming option; however the streaming quality has improved and you would have to invest in quality audio hardware to GENUINELY notice. If you are willing to invest that kind of money (if we're talking non-placebo effect audio quality) it's a 4 figure cash investment. Beats headphones or an integrated Home Entertainment System, you are NOT the target market for audiophiles. Sometimes it is tricky to "untangle" it from Facebook and other social networks.
Overall Opinion: It connects easily from apps that discover playing songs and google nest mini. Sometimes you listen a song on the street, don`t know the title and use an app to discover the artist or title of the song, normally, theses apps after discovering the name of the song, shows the option to listen on spotify. I also like the feature that most of the songs you listen have the lyrics.
Pros: Most songs have lyrics connects easyly with shazan and google nest mini
Cons: I never saw a link to contact support.
Overall Opinion: Spotify is an excellent companion with a huge curation of music and playlists. One stop shop for music, podcasts and entertainment. They have flexible plans with the subscription that allows you to pay just for a day/month/year/family. The availability of the application with desktop and mobile helps you enjoy on the go and switch devices hassle free
Pros: Huge collection of playlists Streaming Quality UI of the product
Cons: Couldn't find anything really
Overall Opinion: Imo by far the best music streaming platform out there. The ease of use, the recommendation system are spot on. The enormous amount of artists and songs are available. Multiple accounts within a family membership.
Pros: Recommendation system Artist list Sharing possibilities
Cons: Livesets from artists are hard to finds somehow
