Overall Opinion: Despite its popularity with torrent-downloading fanatics, Demonoid has gone offline several times. The site's issues have included potential domain seizure in the United States, personnel battles and comparatively vanilla software bugs. Though one of its dark periods lasted 20 months, its founder, who uses the pseudonym Deimos, keeps reviving Demonoid. This gives access to file-rich directories to anyone comfortable with the bitTorrent realm's suspect ethics. Users can dive into its links and download popular movies or expensive software suites for free. Also, while some bitTorrent trackers only allow users to download files after recently uploading files from their computers, Demonoid currently lets any user download without upload requirements. Upon opening the site, users find themselves in a forum-style environment with a theme and color-scheme reminiscent of sites from the 21st century's first decade. Nonetheless, any user searching for an in-demand movie or software product will find free access to it through Demonoid. To shield themselves from legal problems, people who choose to use Demonoid or any bitTorrent tracker should employ VPN software.
