We have 1 review for Chrome. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: About 66% of the world's web surfers choose Chrome as their preferred browser. The software is now available for mobile devices and can be downloaded for free. Some of the primary features of the browser include an auto-complete function for faster searches, a private browsing feature called Incognito, and the ability to download web pages and view them offline. Almost nine million people have reviewed the Chrome app in the Play Store, with a great majority of reviews being positive. Those who don't like the app seem to point to crashes as the primary reason. Google Search and Google Translate are built-in to the mobile version of Chrome. Using the browser also permits one to create a Google account. This opens up access to other services like Gmail. All of Google's services integrate with the app to provide a comprehensive set of Internet tools. When a user signs in to Chrome from their Android phone, the browser syncs across all devices. This means that whatever bookmarks, settings, and passwords a user has saved on their desktop version of Chrome will be available in the mobile app. This is very useful for individuals who use Chrome in a work context. Google Safe Browsing is a feature of the Chrome app that warns individuals when they are about to view suspicious or harmful websites. The security of the app is maintained with frequent updates that address any security problems that have been discovered. In comparison to the desktop version of Chrome, the mobile app seems much faster. It provides quick downloading of web pages and videos. It is also possible for users to save the pages and videos to their device so that they can be viewed offline. Chrome also automatically compresses images and videos so that data usage from the app is reduced. This compression does not affect the quality of the files. There are some negatives that should be mentioned. An early 2018 update removed the ability to take screenshots with Chrome. Some users have also reported that the app will freeze on occasion, but this seems to be a problem to some extent with all apps for mobile devices.
Pros: Syncs across all devices Voice search capability Increased speed over the desktop version
Cons: Cannot take screenshots App freezes and crashes occasionally
