Overall Opinion: The Kiwi SysLog Server is a powerful tool for helping a business' IT team track the going-ons of their network, but for administrators looking for a higher level and more granular level of control, the Kiwi Log Viewer is an essential addition to the tool kit. With its streamlined interface and responsive UI, it simplifies the process of managing your company's servers. No one's going to be wowed by the interface of the Kiwi Log Viewer, but it does what it needs to do. Upon integration with your Kiwi SysLog Server, it will automatically synchronize, keeping track of all logs in real time and printing them out for easy display. Widgets resemble the look of older Windows operating systems, presenting each log as a simple list in the program's main panel. These can be ordered by date time, hostname, facility level, or the content of the message text. Clicking on any value in the list opens up the logged content in a separate window. The top panel allows you to navigate directories, access system tools, and view both the size and format of each individual log. For those unversed in system oversight, this information may seem dense, and inscrutable, but for veteran administrators, everything they need is right there at their fingertips. Functionality takes clear precedence over bells and whistles, and that makes sense given the nature of the program. Where the Kiwi Log Viewer really starts to shine is with its complex filtering and automation features. The search function allows you to quickly access and view files up to 14 terabytes in size, and power users have the option to set protocol that automatically alerts them of potential points of interest. You can set specified conditions within the log, and these will automatically be highlighted in a designated color, a godsend when administrators are sifting through reams and reams of information in search of the information they need. This level of customization is further enhanced with the inclusion of regular expressions. You can determine what is monitored and create a de facto database tracking various elements of your system log. With advanced monitoring functions, you can designate specific keywords and phrases, and have the system alert you whenever they appear in your logs. High-quality IT requires the ability to be responsive and keep an eye on changes as they occur. That's why Kiwi Log Viewer operates in real time and automatically updates changes as they occur. Setup is simple. Experienced administrators can download and integrate the software in the course of a half hour, and the meager size of the log viewer minimizes the strain it puts on your CPU and memory usage. It won't win any awards for high-end design or complex features, but it serves a valuable function in any Kiwi server environment.

Pros: A fast and functional way to monitor and track logs Highly organized structure means you can more quickly find the logs you need Robust search and filtering options

Cons: Designed explicitly for use with a Kiwi Sysog server, minimizing its value Lacking a more robust range of features you can find in similar log viewers
