Overall Opinion: Coding and programming is at the heart of software development. Staring at endless lines of code day in and day out can be exhausting, but thankfully, there are interface solutions out there to make the process more pleasant. EditPlus is one of those solutions. This clever software provides a clean and useful graphic user interface to aid in code development. It supports all the major languages, including HTML, PHP, CSS, ASP, C/C++, Perl, Java, JavaScript and VBScript, and it supports creating custom syntax for other languages. Features include a line ruler, column selection tools, keystroke recording, powerful search and replace functionality, long undo history, code spelling check, customizable keyboard shortcuts and more. The software supports editing directly to the source with FTP, FTPS and sFTP uploading.

Pros: A free evaluation version is available as shareware for 30 days. A one person license is a reasonable $35 and includes a free major (version) upgrade and unlimited minor upgrades Extremely lightweight, weighing in at around 2 megabytes for download Great, cost-effective alternative to Microsoft Frontpage or Adobe Dreamweaver for HTML development

Cons: Only supported on the Windows operating system, versions 7 and above. No support for Mac or Linux
