Feedburner Reviews
We have 1 review for Feedburner. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Feedburner was developed to let bloggers easily manage the RSS feeds for their blogs. Using the service makes it easier for content creators to gain subscribers. It is a very simple platform to use, and there is even a convenient Wordpress plug-in that makes it easy to add Feedburner to a blog. There is a dashboard which is streamlined, and it allows bloggers the ability to view relevant stats at a glance. Google has added a healthy knowledge base since taking over the service in 2007. Feedburner provides many buttons and widgets that can be placed on blogs and websites to encourage subscriptions. These make it possible for individuals to subscribe to a blog with a single click. It is also possible to create widgets that display the number of subscribers a blog has. Bloggers don't need to have vast experience with coding websites to use these tools. All that is required is to simply copy and paste the code provided. SmartFeed is the engine which drives Feedburner. The advantage of SmartFeed is that it creates universal code. Once individuals are subscribed to a feed, the content can be read on multiple devices. Feedburner is compatible with computers, mobile phones, and tablets. The ability to insert AdSense ads into content is one of the major reasons bloggers love Feedburner. Popular bloggers can earn a substantial amount of money in this manner. The negative is that Google can be very picky about where its ads are displayed. Many individuals have run afoul of Google and been banned from advertising because they broke some obscure rule. Getting reinstated can also be very difficult. Some bloggers have complained that analytics provided by Feedburner are not accurate. The number of subscribers displayed can sometimes vary wildly from day to day. This has led to Google removing Feedburner's ability to display subscription numbers in widgets.
Pros: Free to use Setup takes minutes Compatible with all devices
Cons: Analytics are not always accurate No longer displays subscriber numbers in widgets
