Ghostlab

Desktop Software Development
Description
Ghostlab allows you to test out a newly developed website on a variety of browsers and mobile devices at the same time. To get started, simply drag the web address to the Ghostlab system and press the... play button. The software allows you to open browsers directly within it and has a QR tool for connecting to mobile devices. Once you have the URL open, you simply test out various aspects of the site and the software synchronizes these actions across all of the active browsers and devices. If you find a problem while testing, you can use Ghostlab's bug inspector to try to fix the problem, whether the issue is with a CSS property or JavaScript code. Review: Ghostlab provides a useful tool for website developers to test their design over multiple browsers and devices. Other testing tools only give you the option to synchronize a page refresh over multiple platforms. Ghostlab, on the other hand, provides the capability to sync scrolls, clicks, and form inputs for a more realistic view of your website's performance. The design of the software has some flexibility depending on the space available on the destination viewer. You can use the software for a seven day free trial, after which you need to pay a fee to continue using it. Ghostlab is available on Mac and Windows devices, but does not have capability with Linux at this time. Getting started with Ghostlab is as easy as copying and pasting the URL of your website into the software. Once you run the program, you can use the built-in inspector tool to find and fix bugs. Due to its ability to synchronize various actions over a variety of browsers and devices, Ghostlab is a good tool to have for any website developer. Read moreless

Pros: Easy to set up the testing software by dragging and dropping the URL or folder Does not require extra software or additional browser extensions to be installed on every device Testing page provides a wealth of useful information for website developers, such as pixel ratio and viewport dimensions Automatically tests clicks, page refreshes, scrolls, and form inputs on all synchronized devices and browsers Includes an open source debugging tool for testing and fixing bugs in the CSS and HTML code

Cons: Only available on Windows and Mac computers; no capability for Linux devices After the free seven day trial, the software charges you a fee to continue using it
