Overall Opinion: Join.me offers individuals and businesses more opportunities to create virtual meeting places, but it manages to do so without messing with its fundamentally simple principles. Join.me's design is built around the needs of smaller businesses and more intimate groups, and with this in mind, they work hard to make setting up, sharing, and attending a meeting easy. While larger conferencing software often relies on complex, integrated platforms where everyone has to download complicated software, join.me wants users to be able to get engaged with any open conference group with little hassle. When users first set up their join.me account, they're asked to create a URL that serves as their conference space. Since only the person starting the meeting needs to register an account to get the meeting moving, it's a great and flexible way to create conferences on the fly. Your work space is easily customized too. You can create a front picture to help your clients get to know you or brand it to match the aesthetic standards of your business. The versatility of this cloud based client allows you to accomplish a lot of objectives in the same space. Whether you're looking to pitch to new investors, train your new employees in company protocol, or get your entire sales team in one place for a weekly assessment, you can manage all of these goals within the same easily accessible virtual space. Just because join.me places a bold emphasis on simplicity doesn't mean that they've made any sacrifices as far as quality is concerned. They make use of OpenVoice to provide clear calling quality through your WiFi network and offer a host of useful features in their calling experience. Enterprise class security makes sure that all of your calls are protected, and users have a strong amount of administrative control over their accounts. Recording, scheduling, and remote controls are all features and integrate smoothly with the voice calling experience. Their scheduling options easily sync with Outlook and Google Calendar to ensure that everyone involved with your conferences is on the same page. There's also a fully featured video conferencing service that does something different from the competition. Rather than shifting the visuals according to who's talking or offering a grid interface, everyone in the meeting is visually represented through bubbles on the screen so you can follow reactions and make sure everyone is engaged in the conversation. But where many video conferencing services fail is in the tactile experience. In face to face meetings, presentations offer a range of options. While join.me doesn't quite offer the same level of interactivity you'll find in a physical meeting, they do a pretty exceptional job of filling in the gap. Screen sharing functions work well and allow team leaders to convey a sweeping amount of information, and there's even a whiteboard feature that more visual teachers and learners can get a lot of mileage from.
Pros: Easy to set up and use Free option available for smaller teams Call quality is reliably clear and crisp
Cons: No toll-free conferencing options Desktop application can sometimes be slow to respond
