Unsplash is a website with high-quality free HD images. It has a catalog of more than three hundred thousand striking images that are neatly organized with tags. The website is minimalistic and incred...ibly user-friendly. It has a search bar at the top and large clickable images below. Downloading a photo is as simple as clicking on a small icon below the image. While Unsplash encourages it's users to mention the artists when sharing an image, it is not a pre-requisite for using their photography. There are more than fifty thousand artists constantly enriching the site. In addition to having free images, there is also a place for people to purchase prints and products based around their favorite photos from the collection. These are easily found in the store section of the website. There is also a blog that is frequently updated with information about the artists and about what Unsplash is doing.
Unsplash is truly a god-send for those who might not have the skill or time to take high-quality photos for their blog or website. It doesn't have the usual drab aesthetic that is associated with free-usage images but instead feels modern and stylish. Compared to other free-usage image sites, Unsplash doesn't even compare. It is leagues ahead of it's competitors in terms of quality and website ease-of-use. Unlike many other websites of its kind, Unsplash feels personal and curated for quality. It is as if the user can have hundreds of artists at his or her fingertips. While it is possible to download images without an account, the account is highly suggested.
