YouNow Reviews
We have 1 review for YouNow. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: YouNow is meant to act as a platform that is similar to YouTube, but the content on the platform is all live as opposed to the prerecorded content found on YouTube. As a guest of the social network, you can view content that is generated by live producers as they release it, and the app is designed so that the audience and the producer can interact while the broadcast is happening. The software includes a live feed of content that contains examples from every producer that you follow. This Moments feed will let you catch up on the content that you missed while it was live, and it's a great way to connect with recommended musicians, artists, content creators, and other internet personalities. You can also broadcast directly from your own account whenever you want. All you have to do is access your own profile and tap the green button that reads 'GO LIVE' to connect with others in your online community. You can then chat with anyone watching your content, and you can capture moments from certain broadcasts to save them for later viewing. There are a few downsides to the software, however. First, you can only join as a broadcaster if you are willing to buy a subscription. The software is also riddled with suggestions to buy various in-app purchases of a specific digital currency for the app that allows you to send gifts and other items to other users of the platform. This social network is meant for those at least 13 years of age or over. There is no mature or adult content allowed on the network, but it is still a good idea to avoid allowing young children to access the network. When you buy the subscription to YouNow, there are a few perks that come with the purchase. You'll receive a badge and partner sticker for your profile that shows your status as a subscriber, and you can access the super chat messages that come with the app. Only subscribers have access to replays of YouNow content after it is stopped broadcasting, and if you are a subscriber viewing a busy broadcast, your messages are given priority when being shown to the producer. This comes at a cost of $4.99 per month, and there are various other in-app purchases that range from $0.99 to $149.99. These purchases are not required in order to enjoy the YouNow platform, but they will simply give you more freedom to engage with the platform.
Pros: View Live Broadcasts Chat with Friends
Cons: Easily Banned In-App Purchases
