Overall Opinion: Amazon Polly gets good reviews from the companies and individuals that use it. They say that Amazon Polly has helped them build TTS applications at a low cost. For example, Duolingo is a language-learning company. They use Amazon Polly to create audio files that test user pronunciation in the language they are learning. It saves them the money of renting studio space and recording live audio. Bandwidth is another company that uses Amazon Polly. This company says that implementing Amazon Polly was easy and required minimal effort from their developers.

Pros: Amazon Polly supports over 15 different languages, from American English to Welsh Real-time streaming and free, unlimited replays of generated speech Amazon Polly users have full control over speech output, from pitch to pronunciation Amazon Polly has platforming and programming language support: it supports all the programming languages included in the Amazon Web Services SDK toolkit Users have the ability to create custom lexicons, like teaching Polly how to pronounce a company's name.

Cons: Polly does not recognize some symbols, like fractions Does not support translation between languages In company call centers, human representatives will still be needed to answer difficult customer questions Some of Amazon Polly’s voices still sound slightly robotic
