Overall Opinion: If it's not hotmail, it's gmail. If it's not gmail, it's Yahoo. If it's not Yahoo, it's Orange, wanadoo, free, outlook etc... There are a lot of spammers who use mailgun and well you can be blocked for 2 days because the ip has a bad reputation. The support is poor. For example I asked for a dedicated european ip so I don't have to deal with the spammers who spoil ip. I was confirmed several times that it was ok even though I didn't see it on my dashboard. After 3 months, I was finally confirmed that NO, the European IP had not been implemented because I was sending less than 5000 emails per month (about 3K transactional emails). But on the other hand, they did charge me $80 a month. And only paid me back one month out of the 3. That's what is really abused...
Pros: easy to implement
Cons: many spammers... poor support refund not back
Overall Opinion: As more and more business is conducted online, the means to reach customers is increased, but something is lost in the process. Direct engagement with customers is more difficult when you don't have a dedicated brick and mortar storefront, but that doesn't mean you can't continue to build relationships with your clients. One of the most effective engagement methods comes in the form of transactional mail. This covers everything from sending out newsletters and targeted advertising addressing sales and specials to followup notifications whenever purchases are made. But junk mail settings and the vagaries of bulk email can result in a high ratio of undelivered messages. Mailgun can improve the accuracy of your email sending and provide you with the metrics you need to track your engagement with consumers. Reports suggest that 20% of emails sent either end up in junk mail or bounced back to the sender. Mailgun utilizes a modern approach to ensure that their customers get a higher level of accuracy they can depend on. Their email sending infrastructure relies on IP pools that use carefully curated IP addresses to send emails, and they carefully cull their addresses to make sure that suspicious or untoward IP sources won't bring down the accuracy of your performance. Facilitating this is their insistence on only using verified domains. This ensures the quality of email delivery while also strengthening the domains of their users. Verifying your domains is as simple as clicking through a few menus. Users have effective means for monitoring the success of their emails. A simple tabbed dashboard allows you to access your metrics easily. This includes a domain section that allows you to see the ratio of complaints and bounce back from the messages you send as well as the option to check emails individually and see where they are in the routing process. Helpful tool tips make sure that you know the reasoning behind why a message wasn't delivered. Each domain under your profile is a separate sub-account which makes it easy to compartmentalize your sending according to specific demographics or needs. That means you can segregate your customer support emails, storefront receipts, and promotional materials into essentially separate accounts. By using this system, Mailgun allows you to manage thousands of customers meaningfully, and you can isolate bad actors without having to worry about it affecting the rest of your clients. Automation allows you to send out thousands of mails at the same time, and with a little coding experience, you can even set up personalized emails that use recipient variables to tailor messages for specific customers. Rounding out the package are a range of metrics regarding your clients. You can see who's opened or responded to your emails, evaluate the devices most commonly used by your clients, and get a full view of what browsers and platforms they use to access their email.
Pros: Offers 10,000 free email deliveries per month Handled through an easy to install API Streamlined and accessible interface
Cons: Slow loading for many of the metrics High pricing for dedicated IP addresses
