We have 1 review for Helium. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: There are several pieces of software on the market that can perform the same tasks as Helium, but those apps almost always require that the Android device on which they are installed to be rooted. Many users don't want to root their device since the process also brings with it certain safety concerns. However, Helium doesn't require a rooted device, so it isn't going to limit its utility to those who have already done so. Since you can use Helium to create backups on either the local SD card for the device or directly in a cloud storage environment, you won't have to worry about failed backups. The software is adept at syncing data between apps on multiple Android devices, and those devices do not have to be on the same local network for syncing to work. You can also set schedules for backups to occur at regular intervals so you don't even have to think about it. Setting up Helium is exceptionally easy, especially if you happen to have a rooted device. If your device is rooted, all you have to do is install the software and it will be ready to go. If you don't have a rooted device, you must also install the Helium Desktop client on your desktop system. Link your Android device to your desktop system with an appropriate cable, and the software will do the rest. If you happen to have certain Nexus devices, you might be required to alter the desktop system USB connection mode so that it works with PTP systems. There are a number of features that you can use with Helium. If you only have the free version of the software, you can use it to perform backups and restorations to your Android device from either the associated desktop system or the local SD card. If you want any other features from the Helium software, you'll have to spring for the premium version of the software. The premium version of Helium includes a number of other advanced features that certainly make it worth the cost. First, it has no ads whatsoever, so there are no distractions while using the software. Backup scheduling that performs automatically is only possible with the premium version, and syncing between Android devices is limited to the premium version as well. Backups and restorations from the cloud are also only possible with the premium version, and it is compatible with standard cloud storage systems like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box.
Pros: No Root Required SD Card or Cloud Storage Compatible
Cons: Limited Free Version
