Prezi Reviews

by grex about Prezi on March 2, 2018
"PowerPoint may be seen as the de facto standard for sharing presentations in the office and classroom, but it also sometimes has a reputation for its static imagery and lackluster presentational style. Prezi was designed as a counterpoint to this traditional standard, by creating a standard where the presenter takes center stage and the presentation follows the flow of conversation rather than the other way around. Ideally this creates dynamic presentations driven organically rather than by the necessities of bullet points and ordered slides.

Rather than rely on slides in sequence, Prezi draws from a design structure that more closely resembles maps or interactive websites. You can create a home screen from which subsections of your presentation link, connect to these subsections at the press of a finger, and zoom in or out at your leisure. Without the need to present your information in a precise order, you can instead let the questions of your audience drive the presentation. This also allows presenters to get more creative in their layout and design and create presentations that are interactive and visually arresting. A variety of dynamic effects and the ability to implement high-definition photographs and striking animation into your designs make it easier to hold the attention of students or make a persuasive argument to prospective clients.

Prezi presentations don't have to be presented live. Online presentations mean you can communicate with your audience from across the globe, and diagnostic tools available through Prezi mean that you can track which sections your audience spent the most time on and for how long. You can then use that data to determine where to focus your attention, communicate with your audience, and arrange your next presentation. For more complex presentations, multiple team members can work together on different aspects of the same presentation. Whether you're in different departments or different countries, the chat interface and seamless integration allows you to come up with something that reflects the unique sensibilities of your entire team. Leaderboards can even create a sense of competition in the community by tracking how popular each contributing member's section was among the audience.

You don't have to be a creative genius to make the most of the Prezi technology. Prezi comes with an extensive library of pre-loaded presentations that you can insert your data into or customize to make your own. A number of visualizations help you turn boring data into more attractive graphs and charts. Of course, users looking for more creative control can build their own presentations from scratch, and the team at Prezi is even willing to take the logos, font, and colors you choose and build specific templates for your team or company. An extensive support team is on call to help you with any problems you may face."
