The software is developed by Italian author Stefano Napafini, who has also developed OldBar, a repl...acement for the sidebars in Windows; Hamster, a minimalist audio player; ePIM, a personal assistant program; and FlatCDRipper, a program that can extract digital audio from CDs. While development on Snappy (and every other software on the site) seems to have paused, the discussion forum on the developer's site is still active, though the threads are mostly error reports. Overall Opinion: One of the most useful tools in collaboration is being able to share one's desktop with another, whether in image or video format. OndaNera's Snappy software takes the former route, delivering fast and easy images captured directly from the user's desktop. The software is comparable in functionality to Hypercam, ManyCam and many other desktop capturing software. While many programs, such as Discord, Skype and even Facebook, have desktop capturing functionality built-in, Snappy still has applications for other uses, such as wanting to quickly and easily capture an area to the clipboard for quick correspondence.

Pros: Completely free to download, install and use

Cons: Last update was in 2014, so the software may be abandoned No compatibility for mobile devices or desktop operating systems other than Windows
