Overall Opinion: Finding a third-party email application that will work on multiple platforms can be difficult. Newton Mail aims to solve that problem. This email app will let users switch between the Mac and Windows operating systems with ease, and it can also be used on mobile devices and wearable tech. Newton has a very minimalistic design. Everything is accessed from a single pane. This allows users to focus solely on the email they are reading or the email they are writing. The basic features of the window include a search bar at the top where users can look for something specific in the inbox, and there is a sidebar that contains the standard email folders. It is also possible for users to create their own folders in order to keep the inbox from getting out of control. Users can filter, star, and organize emails to their liking with this app. It also integrates with Outlook, Office 365, Gmail, Yahoo, and more. You can even use IMAP to configure the client. A great feature of this app is that it will automatically sync across all platforms. Whatever changes you make on one device will be visible when you switch to another operating system. Newton has some advanced features that bear mentioning. These include the ability to snooze messages. You can even set reminders to alert you to emails that need to be read. There is a scheduler which will allow individuals to send emails at a future date and time. Read receipts are available, and the app can be expanded by connecting other apps like Trello and Wunderlist. The Tidy Inbox feature is very useful but there have been delays in making it available for the Windows platform. One common complaint about this email app has always been its steep price. The app costs $49.95 per year. It is possible to get a 14-day free trial for Windows devices, but once the trial is over the user must pay or lose valuable features. There is also no monthly payment option available. Users must pay for one year of service at a time. This app has appeal because of its versatility. Many people today do not want to be limited to one operating system. Newton takes the hassle out of trying to maintain an inbox on multiple platforms.
Pros: Works across multiple platforms Automatically syncs across devices Minimalist design
Cons: Expensive to buy No monthly option Some features don't work on Windows
