Coda Reviews
We have 1 review for Coda. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Perhaps the greatest thing about Coda is that the software is highly flexible. It doesn't matter which server you decide to use, your website will be kept up to date as you make changes. Even changes that are made from remote locations are handled quickly since the software includes a new Transmit Turbo Engine for optimized uploading. The editing features in Coda are fairly advanced as well. You can take advantage of features like block editing, auto-completion, and syntax coloring. Text clips can be dragged and dropped anywhere in the software, and there are text and visual editing modes for CSS code. Text editing mode is reserved for advanced users, but most users can handle the visual editing mode. The animations in Coda are smooth and colorful without seeming unprofessional. The design is highly noteworthy, and it's what draws many repeat users. Since the software is structured so beautifully, it can be exceptionally fun to use for those who have experience with this sort of software. For those who want a little more knowledge from which to build their site, a collection of digital reference books is included. The newest version of Coda includes a number of updates and changes from the previous version. The Preview function won't load older cached files anymore, and thumbnails have been added to the Preview-only tabs. Live Preview will now show changes that haven't yet been saved, and the sidebar panel is now more stable than before. Users who prefer to use spaces as opposed to tabs can now take advantage of auto-indention. XML highlighting is much more streamlined, and some problems with Windows-based servers have been repaired. Autocomplete and hints now work with full word matches, and entity encoding now works flawlessly. If you are in the middle of autocompleting a process, pressing either the left or right arrow key will cancel the process. An issue that prevented the keyboard shortcut for the Find Next function from working properly in tandem with a second shortcut has been fixed, and an issue that caused an error to return when massive amounts of text were deleted has been repaired. When changing to and from fullscreen, an issue made some of the buttons overlap as the window resized, but that issue has been removed. When searching for files using the Find in Files option, the default search scope for the function will be files that are currently open. When images are added to SCSS files, those images are also added an URLs. An issue that caused problems with folded code in text processing has been repaired, and the warnings for SSL certificate validation have been updated to be more stable.
