Rocket.Chat Reviews
We have 1 review for Rocket.Chat. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: Rocket.Chat offers all of the features companies expect from a team communication application, with the added bonus of being able to host your communication on your own server. This gives your company control over the communication done over the app, rather than relying on a third-party host. After setting up Rocket.Chat, all members of the team have access to the general chat category. You can then create channels that are either private or public, set read-only access, and invite members to the new channels. Team members must have permission before accessing private channels. Within the chat application, you have multiple options for sending text, including sending in line code, formatting text, sending multiple line messages, using TeX functions, and inserting emojis. You can also react, quote, copy, reply to, and star others' messages. Rocket.Chat includes additional features on top of the basic messaging tools. One of these features is the ability to hold a phone conference or video conference with other team members. Screen sharing allows you to show data, charts or files to other team members quickly. All of these features are available at no cost and directly in the application. The main thing that sets Rocket.Chat apart from other team communication software is the ability to customize almost everything. You and your team can create unique emojis, set-up bots, integrate with third-party applications, and upload your company's logo to the chat application. The Live Chat feature is also unique to Rocket.Chat, giving your team the ability to chat and provide support to customers.
Pros: Easy to customize with more customization options than other similar software Keeps communication secure by allowing you to host chats on your own server Channels allows you to create chats for specific groups or projects Open source nature of the application means features are constantly being added Integrates with other third-party applications, including Slack, and Atlassian tools Free tools include audio and video conferences, screen sharing, and file sharing
Cons: Open source application makes bugs more prevalent Interface is not as intuitive as other team communication software
