Overall Opinion: Trello is an excellent productivity app for anyone who is more visually oriented. It is primarily geared toward professional productivity, although it can be used as a personal productivity app as well. The app has a simple, user-friendly interface that lets you drag and drop items such as cards and lists/checklists onto a board. The drag and drop feature also works for other users, so you can use it as a way to delegate tasks. It is very similar to Pinterest boards and can be organized in any way you like. Your board and cards can also be customized to your liking. Trello was built with collaboration in mind. You can add other members to your group, comment on their cards and add attachments. There is also the ability to subscribe to other boards so you will be notified of any changes. Because everyone in your group sees the same board, everyone remains on the same page, which will improve the productivity of your team. Trello is web-based. This can pose cybersecurity concerns for some businesses but has the advantage of accessibility from anywhere on any device. The Enterprise version of the app has stronger security features, such as single sign-on and two-factor authentication. It integrates pretty seamlessly with a number of other apps. Trello calls these "Power-Ups" and limits their use for free users. Paid users get more flexibility with third-party app integration. The base version of the app is free. The free version lets you have unlimited boards, cards, members and checklists. However, you can only have one Power-Up per board and it does not support most group features. This makes it unideal for a business setting but perfectly acceptable for personal purposes. The Enterprise version is $9.99 per user per month and has unlimited Power-Ups, the ability to attach larger files and the ability to organize boards into collections. Enterprise is $20.83 per user per month and offers more personalized support and heightened security features.
Pros: An extremely visual app. Great for visually oriented people. It offers a fun and creative way to organize your day. Ideal for communicating last minute changes to other members of your team. Your setup is kept in the cloud so it can be accessed from anywhere. Very easy to use and pick up. Its simplicity is its strength.
Cons: Trello does not have time tracking features. It lacks reporting tools. Its simplistic nature is not ideal for larger businesses or complex projects. Boards can become crowded and cluttered when too much is put on them.
Overall Opinion: Trello for me is my go-to tool for organizing my work schedule. As a blogger, I have many pieces of content being written at different stages of completion. With these simple drag and drop boards, you can update the boards as things change and from any device. You can even paste in full documents, images, webpages and Trello just seem to handle everything, and its free!
Pros: Trello is very easy to use and its free version is more than enough for a small business. syncs across all devices so you can change boards etc on the go.
Cons: I am struggling to think of one TBH!
